ARKIV VILMANSA

Arkiv Vilmansa is an Indonesian contemporary artist born in 1979. Known through works that visually take references from popular culture. Such as cartoon characters, comics, toys to symbols and elements of contemporary culture. Combined with striking blend of bright colors with lines and organic shapes in his works. Arkiv forms a harmonious and remarkable twist on his paintings. Arkiv began his adventure in the international public through the series of ‘art toys’, then latter followed up by his art print and paintings. He is known for his ability to apply the visual characteristics on a wide range of media, fields and medum. Arkiv is actively engaged in collaborative projects with national, multinational to international companies and brands. Known globally through his visual characteristic and memorable impression through his work, Arkiv is the first Indonesian artist to represent the region(South East Asian)  in an ongoing collaboration with BAPE (Bathing Ape), Japan.

Live and work in Bandung, Indonesia. Arkiv currently exploring the boundaries between paint and painting as an art medium by taking marine biosphere and marine life into his latest series of works.
